The Ridgefield Playhouse has purchased a NEW Steinway Model B piano. Many of our artists require a piano and we have, for the past 15 years, had a lovely Baldwin baby grand which was donated. As you can imagine, this piano has seen a lot of performers over the last 15 years and it is time for a new one.Steinway has given us an amazing discount and the Piano will be costing us $80,000. (Which is $25,000 less than its listed price)

Set up In memory of Leadership Advisory Board member Beth Becker and past Playhouse Board member Bruce Becker, this fund helps offset fees for children and adults who cannot afford tuition for RPH class offerings in song writing, comedy, screenwriting and more. Beth and Bruce, avid music lovers and patrons of the arts, shared the Playhouse’s mission and philosophy to make the arts more accessible to everyone.HD Series
Metropolitan Opera Live in HD is a series of live opera performances transmitted in high-definition video via satellite from the Metropolitan Opera in New York City to select venues. Similarly, National Theatre Live is an initiative operated by the Royal National Theatre in London. As we enter our sixth season, the Playhouse is very pleased to offer a variety of operas and an assortment of National Theatre, plus other unique content, to help garner excitement for the arts at a local level. We aim to offer approximately 20 events each season. Your donation will significantly help to maintain and expand this unique series.Kitty Rosa Preservation Fund
As a dedicated Board Member and volunteer of the Ridgefield Playhouse, Kitty Rosa was an important member of Ridgefield society right up until her passing in 2014. As such, The Ridgefield Playhouse, along with her daughter Elizabeth Rosa Beresford, has set up a Preservation Fund in her memory that will keep the Playhouse and its facility, which is housed in a building first built in 1909 (with the auditorium added later in 1939), preserved and in good condition for years to come. Thank you for your support.Seat Tags

The Leir Foundation Arts for Everyone Program
The Leir Foundation Arts for Everyone program helps make the performing arts available to economically disadvantaged residents of Fairfield County who cannot afford the cost of admission, even at reduced rates. The Playhouse was founded in the belief that the arts can and do make a difference in the lives of people, and that accessibility to the arts should not be limited by one’s ability to pay. Arts for Everyone works with a wide range of non-profit organizations including ABC, Ability Beyond, Danbury Youth Services, Family and Children’s Aid, Danbury Grassroots Academy, Mental Health Associates of CT and the Out & About Club. The Arts for Everyone outreach program also donates free tickets to Title 1 Schools and provides busing for the students to attend our Arts in Education programming. Our title sponsor for this program, The Leir Foundation, is a charitable organization that was founded by Henry Leir and his wife Erna, who came to this country in 1938 and settled in Ridgefield in 1954. Henry Leir was a philanthropist and The Foundation continues the Leirs’ charitable legacy.
